POTENTIAL MINI TRUCK DEALERS:

Thank you for your interest in the Japanese mini truck business.   To help you decide if this is the right opportunity for you, let me “walk” you through the process and provide answers to some of the FAQ’s.

First, what is your background or area of expertise?   We have dramatically simplified the import process due to our experience—but it is still a lot of work.   At a minimum---you will need to own/lease/contract or have access to an unloading dock/ramp and forklift (5000# capacity).   The trucks(or equipment) arrive in a shipping container stacked and packed—almost like dominoes—and in some cases like a puzzle…and you will have to unload the container for return in a very specific time frame.   This will require 2-3 EXPERIENCED workers and some hand/shop tools at a minimum.   Some of the units are shipped with wheels removed and units stacked—so it can be a dangerous environment for the unprepared—BE SAFE--take the task seriously.

Second, while most of the trucks require a wash and wax/detail process combined with a hard service (oil, filters, maybe battery & coolant)—some units may require touch up or full repainting DEPENDING ON YOUR CUSTOMER AND LEVEL OF DETAIL DESIRED.   Although all trucks are inspected before shipping to you---all of this equipment is USED and occasionally some additional mechanical repair is required.   If this develops, remediation and limited parts help is available from the supplier.

Third is the financial end of the business.   Once you have completed your research on both us and the business—and are committed to moving forward—we will provide you with a truck or equipment offer.   This will culminate in the supplier issuing a Pro Forma Invoice (International Bill of Sale) at booking.   This Invoice is the “take it to the Bank” document—it will list the exact units you bought by make, model and serial number—and also the name of the vessel the container is booked on and the sailing dates.   This information is verifiable by our (or any other) reputable Freight Forwarder.   Upon issuance of the Pro Forma you will pay the money for the Invoice plus the estimated shipping/entry costs into an Escrow account---again, here in the U.S. and verifiable for your protection.   We then pay the supplier.   Usually, loads are packed within 14 days or less of ordering, with actual shipping taking about 45 days to your door—sometimes a little more or less, depending on the U.S. Port system.

References and dealer contacts are provided for serious inquiries.   I encourage you to take the time and contact these people---our current dealers are a valuable resource for new dealers.

Currently, most dealers are mixing trucks in containers with the used Japanese tractors to reduce the freight per unit.   While most dealers retail the tractors—as this is another high profit margin business—the ones who do not find lucrative channels by wholesaling them or sending to auction.

I will be happy to and expect to discuss/expand on any of the above further in personal phone conversation or you are welcome to visit here and see how we do it.   Like any business—this one requires some hard work—but it is also highly profitable to those dealers with ambition.   If this sounds right for you and your circumstances, I encourage you to contact us.
